Spread of the Serbian language

This smaller map removes the countries where Serbian is dominant. This map therefore only shows 13.2% of all speakers of Serbian. The territory omitted is Serbia & Montenegro.

Serbian is spoken by roughly 8.5 million people in at least 20 territories. Unlike Croatian, Serbian is written in the Cyrillic alphabet. There are large numbers of speakers in Bosnia Herzegovina, Austria, Switzerland and Sweden.

Territory size shows the proportion of all people who speak Serbian as a first language that live in that territory.
